Choose items that you love and that reflect your personality and style. Add a few plants, a picture frame, or a motivational quote to your desk. Personalize your workspace to make it feel more comfortable and inspiring. Store them neatly on your desk or in a drawer, and keep everything else out of sight. Have you done any IKEA hacks lately? Aren’t they the best? But I guess that is a hack for another time. I plan on adding some leather pulls to the drawers for a little design bling. To create this look you need a slab of wood, brackets, additional furniture to connect the wood to it (make sure the furniture’s height is the same as a standard desk’s height), and the perfect little corner. Now, all it needed was a couple of brackets and the room had an instant desk. And then, bam! It looked gorgeous and it was begging to show off. We sanded it down to create a smooth surface for writing and applied a natural-colored stain. So, after a visit to the lumber yard, I found this beautiful live edge wooden slab that I knew we had to grab and take it home with us. We knew we couldn’t add another large furniture to the room, and we definitely started to crave earth tones like you crave popcorn while binge watching Netflix. We pick the white finish in order to match the white bed from the same set.īut even though the large white dresser provided the desired storage needed, we still needed to add a desk to this space. This modern-looking dresser comes with six smooth-running drawers and a choice of finishes. So in order to make sure his clothes, sweaters, socks, underwear, etc, etc, would be tucked away and organized, we turned to the IKEA Malm dresser. The main design flaw of his room was the lack of storage. Last Summer, while hunting new furniture for my nephew’s room, I decided to get super handy and build him a very minimal desk. Finding clever ways to make a room functional is always at the top of my design list.
